Come Parents, Caregivers, and the children you love…let’s make Music Together®!
Weekly music classes for children, birth-kindergarten, and the adults who love them. Music Together® provides every child an opportunity to develop basic music competence by encouraging actual, active music participation, rather than learning information about music. Children and their adults will sing, chant, play instruments and engage in movement activities in a nurturing environment. Classes are designed for mixed ages so young siblings can participate together. Come make Music Together® with our growing community of music makers and experience the joy music brings to your family!
Spring / Summer 2012 Semester Schedule - 9 Weeks
Wednesdays, 10:00-10:45 am, May 9-July 11(no class 7/4)

*Minimum 6 children to run each class / Maximum 12 children for class*
Cost: $135 first child, $100 for 1st sibling over 9 months. Infants under 9 months at the start of class may attend Music Together® classes tuition free with a registered sibling. Third siblings are also free.
Tuition includes: 9 weeks of 45 minute classes, a beautifully illustrated song book, two professionally recorded CD's, a Parent Guide DVD for new families, ongoing parent education, and more!

Finally, an opportunity to try the piano without the commitment of weekly lessons! This group piano class teaches students "hands on" how to find their way around a keyboard while they play together and for each other. Students will be introduced to the basics of fingering, rhythm and reading music while learning to play children's songs or inventing music of their own. A great way to test the musical waters!

Cost: $95 per each 5-week session; (package includes 4 15-minute mini lessons plus 1 30-minute group classes)
CCA announces its brand new program for very young singers. With an emphasis on building musicianship and introducing healthy singing skills, this programs is geared to children ages 5-9. Young singer work one-on-one with the instructor in 15-minute, mini private lessons and the join together in monthly group singing classes. This is an ideal first, private voice experience for students not quite old enough for traditional private voice lessons, and it is a great partner program to the popular Chelsea Children's Choir. Each child's readiness for the program will be determined by the instructor, who will also arrange the lesson schedule with each student. Be a part of the newest voice in the Chelsea community! After a successful first year, the Chelsea Children's Choir returns Fall of 2011. Director Sarah Price brings a whole new way to look at a choral singing, with diverse music choices, original songs, and an innovative approach to enjoying eclectic music while making a positive impact on the world through service to others. Singers will continue to write their own songs as part of this diverse choral experience. Performances through the community will again be featured during the year.

Parent & Child Music Lessons
For parents and their children, ages 4-12
Piano Lessons with Lester Castellana
CCA launches its new Parent & Child Music Lessons with Lester Castellana's piano studio. Lester brings tremendous energy and experience to this new program, with over 20 years of performance and teaching students of all ages and abilities. Parent & Child Music Lessons are a shared lesson and the perfect way for parents and their children to grow and learn from each other. Each Parent & Child instructor develops a studio model that will allow the parent to be fully present for lessons, learning alongside his/her child, and then continuing the activities at home. For parents who already have some musical skills, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn some new music games, techniques, and strategies to help make music fun- for both parent AND child! For parents who have always wanted to try an instrument but never had the opportunity, this is the perfect chance to give it a whirl!

Dust off your horn and get your jazz on! This hands-on class is for students interested in gaining more confidence with their jazz soloing, or for returning, life-long students who wish to grow in jazz. All levels of musical ability are welcome to participate, from beginning to advanced, vocalists and instrumentalists. Topics will include: applying scales, chords, and patterns to common jazz chord changes, learning to play jazz through transcription, common jazz repertoire, improving your swing feel, and improvising on the blues. The most effective way to learn jazz is through consistent performance-the cornerstone of the CCA Jazz Workshop Series. In addition, several accomplished guest jazz musicians from the area will share their knowledge and experience with the class throughout the semester. THIS PROGRAM IS UP AND RUNNING!
